Nicholson Baker is all over it
So there I was, reading Vox by Nicholson Baker. I put down the book and picked up the computer. In preparation for later today, I looked up "manicure" on Wikipedia. I linked to the Nail Clipper article. It said the nail clipper was invented by Chapel Carter in 1896. In the footnotes:
A brief history of the nail clipper is printed in The Size of Thoughts: Essays & Other Lumber, Nicholson Baker, New York: Vintage 1997.
